The fact is…our way of being (everything that is going on with us internally) and our actions are correlated to (in-a-dance-with) the way in which situations occur for us.
If we look into our lives we can see that, for instance, if a dog approaches us, our way of being and acting is correlated to how the dog occurs. If the dog occurs as friendly we may reach down to pet it, if not we may freeze or run. And it all happens before we plan or even realize it. It is automatic. Those of us evolving thousands of years ago, who took the time to assess if the kitty was friendly were eaten by the saber tooth tiger. Their gene pool became extinct. We now run and do the assessment and decision later after reaching safety. (neuroscience research) Our brains have registered it in some particular way and we are in action automatically.
Stop for a moment to verify that there are no exceptions to this. Situations occur and we act and some emotion surfaces right along with the action. Erhard et al (2022)
Quotations From Neuroscience Research
“Perceiving [the occurring], thinking [what is going on with you internally], and moving [action] always occur together as coherent coordination’s of activity (Dewey, 1896/1981a).” (Clancey 1993, p.91)
“His [man’s] perception [the occurring] is dynamic because it is related to action …” (Hall 1966, p.115 – emphasis added)
“It is in fact essential to recognize that the possibilities of action subtend the perceptual process [that is, the way the world, others, and you yourself occur for you] …” (Delevoye- Turrell et al. 2010, p.236 – emphasis added)
